"Ham" and pineapple stuffed crust pizza

Vegan junk food :-). A pizza tray is very useful for this recipe, they're about 3 quid from Tesco. If you don't have one, divide the mixture in half and make two smaller pizzas on baking sheets.

Base:

200ml water
350g bread flour
1 x 7g sachet fast action yeast
1 tsp salt
1 tbsp olive oil
190g melty vegan cheese (e.g. super melting Cheezly)

Topping:

tomato puree or tomato sauce
1 tsp dried mixed herbs
3 slices vegan ham
3 tinned pineapple rings
1 red or orange pepper
1 block vegan cheese
or any other toppings of your choice, e.g. mushrooms, olives

Sift the flour into a bowl and add the yeast and salt. Gradually add the water and mix until a dough forms. Add more water if it's too dry or more flour if it gets too sticky. Knead the dough for 10 minutes, then dust the inside of the bowl with flour, add dough, cover with a clean tea towel and leave the dough to stand somewhere warm for 1 hour.

Preheat the oven to 220c.

In the meantime, make the tomato sauce if you're making your own, chop the topping ingredients and grate the cheese.

Knead the dough again to knock the air out of it and roll out onto the pizza tray, stretching the dough slightly over the edge if you can. Arrange the grated cheese in a circle about 2-3cm from the edge of the dough, then fold the edge over the cheese and press down.

Spread the tomato sauce and herbs over the base, then add the other toppings. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until the pizza base is firm on the underside.
